It occurs in brain, intestinal tissues, blood platelets, and mast cells. Serotonin is a potent
vasoconstrictor and functions as a neurotransmitter. Concentrated in some regions of the brain, in particular in the midbrain and hypothelium , it is linked with many mood disturbances and shifts in focus. Serotonin is the key hormone to help stabilize our mood, wellness and happiness. It affects your whole body. It helps cells of the brain and other cells in the nervous system to interact.

Serotonin also helps with sleeping, eating, and digestion. It may lead to depression if the brain has too much serotonin.
