Do you think the things you do are never good enoughDo you frequently postpone the production of documents or projects until they are fair? Do you think you have to give more than 100% on everything you do or will you be poor or even a failure?aa

If so, instead of working towards success, you may be attempting to be perfect. Striving for success is not the same as needing to be perfect. Perfectionism is a characteristic feature that makes life an endless card of achievement, appearance, and accomplishments.aaa

There are those who wrongly believe that perfectionism is a healthy motivator, but it is not. Perfectionism can make you feel unhappy with your life. This can result in depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and self-harm.aaa
Ultimately, it can also cause you to stop trying to be successful. Even benign cases can be detrimental to your quality of life, personal relationships, education, or work.aaa

Perfectionism Symptoms

a)Regularly procrastinate - you might resist starting a job because you are afraid you cannot do it perfectly

b)Difficulty relaxing and sharing your thoughts

c)becoming overwhelmed with work, lists, and rules and you feel careless

d)Feel failure in every attempt.aaaa

How do you treat perfectionism?aaa

The cause is not always clear of perfectionism. It is often learned conduct.aaa

You can strive to hide your problems as part of your perfectionism. This can make it more difficult to handle. But remember, when you need it, it is important to find help. Talk to your doctor or a mental health psychologist if perfectionism interferes with your ability to live a full and happy life. If you plan to hurt yourself or others, seek medical assistance in an emergency.aaa

Therapy can help you learn new approaches for thinking about your goals and achievements, in particular cognitive-compliance therapy. A therapist may help meet your acceptance requirement or reduce your reactions to negative feedback.aaa
